Punjab Plans Higher Subsidy for PEF Schools

Punjab Plans Higher Subsidy for PEF Schools

The Punjab government is considering raising the monthly per-student subsidy for Punjab Education Foundation-affiliated PSRP schools from Rs. 1,250 to Rs. 3,000.

According to reports, PEF has submitted a summary to the provincial government for approval. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is expected to announce the revised rate after the proposal receives formal clearance.

Higher Funding Could Support School Operations

PEF provides financial assistance to partner schools operating under Punjab’s public-private education model.

The proposed increase could help these schools manage rising expenses, including teacher salaries, utilities, maintenance and learning materials.

It may also provide schools with more resources to improve classroom facilities and teaching standards.

The higher subsidy is still under consideration, and the existing rate will remain applicable until the Punjab government issues an official notification.
