Sindh Approves Recruitment of Over 8,000 Junior Science Teachers

The Sindh Assembly’s Special Committee on Recruitment has approved the recruitment of more than 8,000 Junior Science Teachers (JSTs) to fill vacant teaching positions in government schools across the province.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the committee as part of the provincial government’s efforts to strengthen the public education system through merit-based hiring.

Eligibility Criteria for JST Recruitment

According to the committee’s decision, candidates who secured at least 55 marks in the IBA Sukkur recruitment test will be eligible for appointment as Junior Science Teachers.

The approved merit threshold will be used for the recruitment process across Sindh.

ECT Passing Score to Remain Unchanged

The committee also decided to retain the minimum qualifying score of 55 marks for the recruitment of Early Childhood Teachers (ECTs).

Officials said the existing benchmark will continue to apply for ECT appointments.

Offer Letters Within 15 Days

During the meeting, authorities approved the issuance of offer letters to successful Early Childhood Teacher candidates.

Officials have been directed to complete the process and issue appointment letters within the next 15 days.

More Recruitment Tests Planned

The committee further instructed the relevant authorities to conduct recruitment tests for additional teaching vacancies as early as possible to address staffing shortages in government schools.

The move is expected to accelerate the filling of vacant teaching positions across the province.

Merit-Based Recruitment Drive

According to officials, the recruitment campaign aims to strengthen Sindh’s public education system by filling vacant teaching posts through a transparent and merit-based selection process.

The initiative is expected to improve teacher availability in government schools while supporting better learning outcomes for students across the province.
