The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has officially announced Eid ul Azha and summer holidays for schools and colleges operating under its administration in Islamabad.
According to the notification issued on May 20, educational institutions will remain closed from:
π May 25, 2026 to July 31, 2026
while classes are scheduled to resume on:
π August 3, 2026
Applies to Schools & Colleges in Islamabad
The announced holidays will apply to:
- π« Islamabad Model Schools
- π Islamabad Model Colleges
- π Ex-FG Colleges
- π’ Urban and rural educational institutions under FDE
Administrative Staff to Continue Office Duties
Despite summer vacations for students, heads of institutions and administrative staff will continue official duties during the break.
According to the notification:
π Office timings during vacations:
- 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Officials have been directed to manage various academic and administrative tasks during the holiday period.

Summer Fiesta to Begin From June 15
FDE has also instructed institutions to ensure student participation in:
π Two-week Summer Fiesta
starting from:
π June 15, 2026
Further details regarding activities will reportedly be shared after Eid holidays.
Coaching Classes for Classes 9 & 10
To help students complete the syllabus on time, institutions will arrange:
π Coaching classes for Grade IX and X students
during June and July.
According to officials:
- Classes may be conducted physically
- Digital Hub Connected Classroom system may also be used
- Live online classes are expected in June
- Recorded lectures may continue in July
Teacher Training & Maintenance Work
The notification further directed institutions to:
- Submit names for teacher training sessions by May 22
- Ensure nominated teachers attend training programs
Schools and colleges have also been instructed to complete:

- π¦ Stock checking and administrative tasks
during the vacation period.
BS & ADP Classes to Continue
FDE clarified that:
π Undergraduate BS and ADP classes
will continue according to the existing academic schedule.
