AIOU to Establish Chinese Language and Culture Center

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) is set to establish a Chinese Language and Culture Center to help students learn Chinese and strengthen educational cooperation between Pakistan and China.

The center will be launched under a new cooperation agreement between AIOU and Teng Chinese International. The partnership will cover Chinese language education, academic programs, professional skills development and exchange opportunities for students and teachers.

Center to Offer Chinese Language Education

The proposed center will provide students with opportunities to study the Chinese language and learn more about the country’s culture and academic environment.

According to university officials, the initiative is intended to prepare young people for emerging academic and professional opportunities connected with China.

Academic and Skills Programs Planned

Under the cooperation agreement, AIOU and Teng Chinese International will work together in several areas, including:

AIOU Seeks Practical Learning Opportunities

AIOU Vice Chancellor Dr. Nasir Mahmood said the university aims to equip young people with practical skills and modern learning opportunities.

He said learning Chinese would enable students to better understand China’s language, culture and educational system.

University Already Operates Other Language Centers

AIOU is already running language centers for Turkish, Japanese and Russian. The addition of a Chinese Language and Culture Center will further expand the university’s international language programs.

The new center is also expected to create additional academic and cultural exchange opportunities for students in the coming years.

Initiative to Strengthen Pakistan-China Educational Links

University officials said the project would support stronger educational cooperation between Pakistan and China.

AIOU is expected to announce information about the center’s courses, registration process and opening date through its official communication channels. The university describes itself as a distance-education institution serving learners across Pakistan.
