Punjab Extends Summer Vacations for Non-Formal Schools Until June 30

The Punjab government has extended summer vacations for all Non-Formal Schools (NFS) across the province until June 30, 2026, citing ongoing extreme heat and harsh weather conditions.

The decision applies to institutions operating under the province’s literacy and non-formal education programs.

Which Schools Will Remain Closed?

According to a notification issued by the Directorate General of Literacy and Non-Formal Basic Education Punjab, the extended holidays will apply to:

  • 🏫 Non-Formal Basic Education Schools (NFBEs)
  • 🏫 Non-Formal Education (NFE) Schools
  • 🏫 GPE TALEEM Program Schools

All institutions covered under these programs will remain closed until the end of June.

Why Were the Vacations Extended?

The notification stated that the decision was taken due to:
